Reminder for U3A Membership Renewal for 2026

Make 2026 the year of connection

 

The U3A Townsville Membership Renewal process for the 2026 calendar year is currently open. Membership Renewals are processed each Monday morning once your details have been received by the U3A Townsville Finance team.

The annual membership fee still remains at $40 for the calendar year of 2026 as agreed to by the U3A Townsville members at the March 2025 AGM. This amount has remained unchanged for the last five years, so it is great value for money.

The membership receipt document has been remodelled so it now clearly displays your unique membership ID number and your 2026 receipt number. Both have been repositioned and are in Bold and larger font for easier recognition to differentiate both fields.

You can pay your renewal subscription by cash or cheque at the U3A Townsville office at Unit D4, corner Palmerston and Fulham Roads Vincent. You can alternatively forward a cheque payment to PO Box 378 Belgian Gardens Qld 4810. Please include your full name and your U3A membership ID number (Not your receipt number) with your payment to enable your payment to be correctly allocated and matched to your name.

The third option is to pay by bank transfer to the U3A Townsville bank account. The CBA bank account details are:

In the reference field for your deposit please state your surname and U3A membership ID number (Not your receipt number) to enable your payment to be correctly allocated and matched to your name.

Your membership renewal for 2026 must be paid before the 2026 AGM which will be held on Friday 13th March 2026. If your membership renewal has not been received by this date you will be unfinancial and you cannot attend any U3A Townsville classes or functions held after 13th March 2026.

In relation to the AGM, more details will be sent out shortly, but one thing for you to know is that all positions on the Committee become vacant and we need members to consider joining the Committee as a Committee member. The positions are not onerous, and we need your help to boost the Committee member numbers.

Under the Associations Incorporations Act Part 7 it states, ‘The management committee must have at least 3 members of whom 1 holds office of President and another holds office of Treasurer’.

If it happens that U3A Townsville does not have a President and Treasurer on the Committee after the AGM we would have to consider closing down U3A Townsville as we haven’t met our legal obligations as an Association.
