A very big thank you to our continued supporters in 2026

Community Benefit Gambling Fund Grant Application Submitted 2026
We are pleased to advise members that U3A has submitted an application to the Queensland Government’s Community Benefit Gambling Fund Grant program for the current funding round.
Each year, the Committee prepares a “wish list” of items that will assist in improving the day-to-day operation of U3A and enhance the services we provide to our members. These requests are carefully reviewed and grouped into categories required for the grant application process, such as office equipment, promotional materials, and operational resources.
Our 2026 application totals $5,719 and includes a range of practical items that will support both administration and member services, including:
- A new office computer
- Office phones
- Chairs
- A shredder
- Drill kit
- Plasterboard anchors
- Promotional bookmarks and pens
The grant application process is thorough and requires detailed organisational information, references, and explanations outlining how the requested items will benefit U3A and its members.
Following the close of the funding round, the assessment process takes approximately five months before successful applicants are announced. Organisations are only permitted to apply once within each funding cycle, making each application an important opportunity to secure resources that support the continued growth and operation of U3A.
Maintaining regular applications is also essential, as organisations that do not apply annually may lose their eligibility status and need to re-establish access before applying again in future rounds.
We thank everyone who contributed suggestions and assisted with the preparation of this year’s submission. We now look forward to the outcome and will keep members informed as further news becomes available.
